City Manager
Duties Of The City Manager
The City Manager is responsible for appointing, directing, and supervising all administrative officers of the City, including:
- Downtown Development Authority Director
- Finance Director
- Ionia Theatre Director
- Parks and Recreation Director
- Public Safety Director
- Public Utilities Director
- Public Works Director
- Public Transportation Director
The City Manager is also responsible for:
- Overseeing that all laws, provisions of the City Charter, and directives of the City Council are faithfully executed.
- Preparation of the annual city budget and capital improvement program.
- Preparing reports for the City Council on matters of the City.
- Providing staff support to the City Council.
