Annual Adult Cornhole Tournament
Returning for its third year is our Adult Cornhole Tournament! This event, sponsored by KR Forestry will take place on 5/2 at 6pm at Steele St. Hall. Teams can pre-register or register day of. Team registration fee is $50. See below for full program details.
Spring Sports- Soccer and Tumbling
IPR Spring Soccer, sponsored by Ventra, encompasses players from all skill levels from ages 4 to 13. The program is $60 or less per participant and requires no travel outside of Ionia. IPR Tumbling, sponsored by M1 encompasses kids from all skill levels from ages 18mo to 9y. The program is co-ed and is $80 for 8 weeks. Registration is NOW OPEN! See below for full program details.
Summer Programming Registration Open
Tee Ball, sponsored by Meijer, is our introduction to baseball/softball program for beginners. This program is co-ed and serves ages 3-6. Also opening is our intermediate flag football program Thursday Night Lights, sponsored by Ventra. This program is co-ed for grades 3rd-6th. See below for both program's full details.

Heidi & James Purkey Memorial Youth Scholarship Program
We understand that sometimes money can be tight, especially when raising kids. It is our department's firm belief that every youth participant should be able to recreate regardless of family financial conditions. We've teamed up with Purks Inc. to provide an expanded scholarship program that allows more families to meet the guidelines. Rent the Ionia Armory Community Center For Your Special Event!
Whether it's a conference, party, meeting, or class, we can help. We have three rooms available at the Ionia Armory Community Center that you can rent for any event. Alcohol is allowed with a permit and liability insurance rider. The center is equipped with special needs accessibility ramps and an elevator. The Armory Community Center is a non-smoking facility.
Rooms Available at Armory:
Gymnasium is ideal for receptions and it seats 250 people. Tables and chairs are available. The Lions Room accommodates 20 people and can be used as conference-style seating or a smaller group party. The American Bumper Room accommodates 30 people and can be used as conference-style seating or a smaller group party. Now available is the M1 Tumbling Center. This room is your perfect for kids birthday parties! Call to inquire about any of the rooms and their availability.
Adult & Youth Recreation Programs
*Please be sure read the associated program flyer in its entirety to locate important dates for participant packet pickup. Your coach may not contact you before the first practice.

This program, sponsored by M1, is co-ed for ages 4-9. Teams are split into 2 divisions by age 4-6 / 7-9. Fundamentals and teamwork are taught, and there is no expectation of prior experience. This program, sponsored by Ventra, is co-ed for ages 4-13. Teams are split into 4 divisions by age Under6 / Under8 / 10&Under / 13&Under. Fundamentals and teamwork are taught, and there is no expectation of prior experience. This program, sponsored by M1 and taught by Alana Moser, is for all children aged 18months up to 9 years old. Classes are grouped by age and are all beginner to early beginner in skill range. Spring Tumbling Online Registration
* Due to the high demand of this program, registrations are taken on a first come, first serve basis. If classes overfill before we get a chance to remove them from the online registration, we will contact you to see if another class fits your schedule or you will receive a full refund. If a payment is not made, or if there is an issue making payment and no contact with our department is made your spot will not be saved.
If the class you are looking for is no longer available, it may have already filled. Please e-mail krice@ci.ionia.mi.us to be placed on a waitlist.

One of the best values a parent or caregiver can find! This program runs daily throughout the summer from 9-3 at Hale Park. Payment includes daily lunch, cost of field trips and a camp shirt. Summer is broken up into 2- 4 week sessions.
Due to the nature of medical forms necessary, this program's forms may only be submitted in office. You may call 616-523-1800 to submit payment to hold your spot.
